NUMBER 2 VOL 15

THURSDAY OCTOBER 2ND 2008

WEATHER; COOL, HIGH HUMIDITY, 54/78 DEGREES

LOCAL GAS PRICES; $3.01 INDEPENDENT & $3.24 REGULAR EXXON AND OTHER MAJOR!

 

WENT TO BONHAM VA THIS MORNING AND HAD MY 6 MONTH CHECK UP! BLOOD SUGAR A LITTLE HIGH AND ALSO IS THE WHITE BLOOD CELL COUNT! THE DOCTOR SAID IT COULD BE BECAUSE OF THE FALL AND THE TAIL BONE DAMAGE! HE GAVE ME SOME PAIN PILLS AND I’VE TAKEN 2 ALREADY AND THE PAIN IS ALMOST GONE!

TOMORROW WE’RE GOING TO TIMS AND ON THE WAY WE HAVE TO STOP AT THE DALLAS VA AND GET MEASURED FOR SPECIAL DIABETIC SHOES! I HAVE A PAIR THEY GAVE ME ABOUT THREE YEARS AGO THAT I STOPPED WEARING BECAUSE THEY’RE TO BIG! THEY ARE 16s AND I WEAR A 15X 4E! I KEPT TRIPPING ON EVERY LITTLE THING! I FINALLY CHECKED THE SIZE AND FOUND OUT WHY! THEY TOLD ME I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THEM BACK AND GOT REFITTED BUT I JUST PUT THEM UP IN THE CLOSET AND FORGOT ABOUT IT! NOW I’LL TAKE THEM BACK AND TURN THEM IN FOR THE NEW ONES!

I CALLED THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE THE BLOOD SUGAR TESTING MACHINE AND THEY HAD US CHECK IT WHILE WE WERE ON THE PHONE! IT CHECKED WITHIN THE TOLERANCES BUT THEY SENT ME AN UP DATED NEW ONE! I ASKED OVER AT THE VA WHAT TO DO WITH THE OLD ONE AND THEY SAID TO TURN IT IN BUT THE PLACE WAS WAY ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BUILDING SO I’LL TAKE IT NEXT TIME I’M THERE!

 

WE HAD TO STOP AT SHANNONS ON THE WAY TO THE VA SO MOM COULD HELP HER WITH THE ICE AND REBANDAGING HER LEG! I HAVE NO IDEA WHO’S GOING TO DO THIS FOR HER WHILE WE’RE AT TIMS!

 

I GOT THE REPORT FROM PEGGY ON THE NHRA DIVISON FINALS   AT FALLON, NEVADA! RATHER THAN TRY TO PASS THE INFORMATION ON I’M ADDING IT TO THIS CHRONILE:

OK, SO WE SUCK!  PAUL WENT OUT 1ST ROUND IN THE RACE OF CHAMPIONS AND 2ND ROUND IN POINTS ELIMINATIONS AND  I WENT OUT IN THE 1ST ROUND OF MY CLASS.  MY CAR JUST WILL NOT PERFORM.  IT RAN 13.634 AT 9:38 AM AND 13.546 AT 5:00 PM ON SATURDAY. I SAW SOMETHING STRANGE ON THE .63 RUN...MY SHIFT LIGHT CAME ON BEFORE 6000RPM FOR MY 1ST SHIFT AND 7000RPM FOR THE 2ND SHIFT.  I TOLD PAUL, JOHN, BILL, JIM EVERYONE THAT WAS THERE.  BILL HAS AN MSD RPM TESTER SO THEY HOOKED UP EVERYTHING AND TESTED IT.  IT ALL CHECKED OUT GOOD...SHIFT LIGHT COMES ON AT 7000RPM RIGHT WHERE IT'S SET TO COME ON. THEN I RAN THE .54 RUN AND WATCHED MY TACH...IT DID IT AGAIN CAME ON AT 5800RPM & 7000RPM.  I AM NOT CRAZY!  I WATCHED IT.  1ST ROUND WAS BETWEEN 9 & 10AM SUNDAY CHECKED THE DA, TEMP, BP ETC.DIDN'T WANT TO CHANGE ANYTHING FOR 1ST ROUND ELIMINATIONS SO I DIALED IN BETWEEN... 13.58.  DO YOU KNOW THAT DARN THING PULLED 7000RPM FOR BOTH SHIFTS AND RAN SLOWER!!!  13.717   GEEEZZZZZZZZ...I'M DONE...THE BIG BLOCK (390) IS GOING IN!

 

ON A LIGHTER NOTE, BERNIE (OLD OWNER OF LACR) IS NOW TRACK MANAGER OF SPEEDWORLD IN PHOENIX.  HE IS REVIVING THE "HANGOVER NATIONALS" AT SPEEDWORLD LIKE HE USED TO HAVE AT LACR.  WE ARE ALSO INCLUDING AN LACR REUNION.  BERNIE SAID THAT SINCE I HAD TOLD EVERYBODY ALREADY THAT HE GUESSED HE HAD BETTER SCHEDULE IT.  (HE HE HE) WHOOOO-HOOO, WE ARE GOING TO PHOENIX FOR NEW YEARS!!

I SENT HER SOME SUGGESTIONS ABOUT WHAT I THOUGHT WAS HAPPENING AND HERE IS HER ANSWER TO MY SUGGESTIONS;

 

ACTUALLY THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT WE WERE THINKING.  THAT IS THE ONLY THING WE HAVEN'T REPLACED. WHEN WE BUILT THE CAR WE LEFT THE ORIGINAL WIRING IN AND TOOK OUT WHAT WE DIDN'T NEED.  EVERYTHING IS "SIMPLIFIED" TO DISCONNECT EASILY.  PAUL WANTS TO GET A "PAINLESS" WIRING HARNESS BUT I DON'T KNOW IF THEY HAVE AN APPLICATION FOR MY CAR.  WE WILL PROBABLY DO WHAT YOU SAID AND BUILD IT OURSELVES. IF THE 390 GOES IN WE WILL DEFINATELY DO NEW WIRING.  I WOULD HATE TO DO ALL THAT WORK AND HAVE THE SAME THING HAPPEN.  I WOULD BE IN THE SAME CLASS WITH THE 390.  "PRO" INDEX IS 7.50 TO 13.99 AND I WOULD PROBABLY RUN SOMEWHERE AROUND 11.50'S.  I REALLY DON'T WANT TO GO FASTER THAN 11.50 BECAUSE I'D HAVE TO HAVE A FULL CAGE, 5 POINT SAFETY HARNESS AND A BUNCH OF OTHER STUFF.  I WANT TO STILL BE "MILD" AND LOW MAINTENANCE. 

 

SO, IT LOOKS LIKE THE OLD MAN STILL KNOWS A LITTLE ABOUT HOW THINGS WORK NO MATTER HOW COMPLICATED THE SITUATION GETS! HA! HA!
